International conference on Opportunities and Challenges in the era of Artificial Intelligence organized at Galgotias University

A two-day international conference entitled “(Re)constructing the ‘self’ in the age of AI: Perspectives, Contestations and Challenges” was inaugurated on 15^th December through an online platform. This conference was organized by the GU School of Liberal Education in collaboration with the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The conference addressed how digital life is augmenting human capacities as well as disrupting age-old human activities. This conference focused on how artificial intelligence offers unimagined opportunities and unprecedented threats.

Prof (Dr.) Anuradha Parasar, Dean of the School of Liberal Education, delivered the welcome address and appreciated the effort of the organizing team for the timely and engaging conference theme. She pointed out the significance of AI in our day-to-day life.

Prof (Dr.) Renu Luthra delivered an insightful speech on how artificial intelligence intersected with our day-to-day experiences and how it is going to augment our daily life experiences. She also expressed her apprehensions about the data collected and utilized by AI machines.

 Prof (Dr.) Mallikarjun Babu, the Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University expressed his views that AI has the potential to help save lives, the medical field, for example, is exploring the option of using artificial intelligence for improved diagnoses of diseases and ailments. He expressed his apprehension and curiosity about whether the regime of artificial intelligence will really prove to be a boon for humankind. He congratulated the organizers for organizing the conference on such an engaging theme.

Prof. Srinath Srinivasa, Professor and Dean (R&D), IIIT Bangalore graced the conference as the chief guest. He gave a detailed lecture on genealogy, capabilities, and challenges of artificial intelligence in the construction of the ‘self’ vis a vis ‘other’. Dr. Sheetal Sharma, faculty of Jawaharlal Nehru University and Coordinator for the Jean Monnet Module, delivered the speech on the theme of artificial intelligence and how it reinvents the idea of ‘self’. Many researchers have discussed their research papers in the conference.

University’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dhruv Galgotia and Director Operations Advocate Aradhana Galgotia congratulated for successfully conducting this international conference.

Two-day film making workshop inaugurated at Galgotias University, Nuances of Film Making Explained by International Filmmaker

A two-day film making workshop was inaugurated by the School of Liberal Education, Galgotias University. Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Ms. Vinky Singh, Director of DIMTP Mr. Sanjay Singh, and the university advisor Prof. Dr. Renu Luthra inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp. Professor Luthra honoured all the guests by presenting mentos.

Addressing the students, Ms. Vinky Singh said that film making is an art which requires good ideas, interesting script and good camera direction. Dr. Luthra encouraged the students to acquire versatility and skills. She said that apart from their courses, students should develop their talents in other fields as well for this is the need of the hour. In her address, Dr. Anuradha Parasar, Dean, School of Liberal Education, emphasised on the importance of film making and said that films are the mirror of society. You can also make your identity at the national and international level by making a good film.

In the second session, Ms. Vinky Singh trained the participants about the technical nuances related to film making. She made groups of ten students each and asked them to make a short film. Later, she expressed her opinion to the participants on their short films citing the shortcomings.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed with the Digital Interfaced Media and Television Production (DIMTP) Company under the chairmanship of Advocate Aradhana Galgotia, Director of Operations, Galgotias University. Mr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the workshop. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the students who participated in the film making workshop.

Nature Connect photography Workshop organized at GU School of Liberal Education

A ‘Nature Connect photography’ workshop was organized at School of Liberal Education, Galgotias University on 1st December 2022. The theme of this photography workshop was ‘Joy At FingerTips’. The Limca Book Record holder Mr. Alok Govind Sheode was the resource person of this workshop.

Mr. Alok Shevde taught the students the tricks of photography of different species of insects and told them about the nuances of the camera. Under his direction, students took photographs of insects and butterflies with the help of their cameras and smartphones.

The workshop started with lamp lighting and Saraswati-Vandana. Vice-chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mallikharjuna Babu addressed the participants and appreciated the theme of the workshop. Director Operations of the University Advocate Aradhana Galgotia emphasized on enhancing the skills of the students through this workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Renu Luthra encouraged the participants in her address. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Dr. Anuradha Parashar, Dean, the School of Liberal Education.

Galgotias University is focusing to adopt international standards.

Greater Noida. Galgotias University is focusing on strengthening the academic ambience of the University at par with international standards after getting the NAAC A+ grade. The university administration is taking multiple steps to excel in all fronts under the guidance of visionary CEO Dhruv Galgotia, and Director Operations Aradhana Galgotia. In the sequence of this, the distinguished professors have joined hands to reinforce and enhance the quality initiatives at the University.

Professor (Dr.) Anuradha Parasar has taken charge as Dean for the School of Liberal Education. She will lead departments of English, Economics, Political Science, Mass Communication, Psychology and Sociology. Professor Parasar is a highly qualified and experienced professor. She has been a Commonwealth Academic Fellow and gold medalist in anthropology.

After taking the charge as Dean, the School of Liberal Education, Professor Parasar interacted with faculties and students and shared her vision and benchmarking. She advised students to figure out ways to do justice to studentship and how to excel. She has taken multiple actions to develop students as industry-ready professionals who can cater to the needs of society nationally and internationally.

गलगोटिया विश्वविद्यालय के स्कूल ऑफ लिबरल एजुकेशन में आयोजित हुआ फोटोग्राफी एवं कला प्रदर्शनी मेला

गलगोटिया विश्वविद्यालय के स्कूल ऑफ लिबरल एजुकेशन में तीन-दिवसीय फोटोग्राफी एवं कला प्रदर्शनी मेले का आयोजन किया गया। 27 दिसम्बर से शुरू हुए इस मेले में कम्प्यूटर साइंस इंजीनियरिंग के विद्यार्थियों ने अपने हाथों से बनाए हुए आर्ट्स एंड क्राफ्टस की प्रदर्शनी लगाई। इस कला प्रदर्शनी के आयोजन का मकसद विद्यार्थियों को सिलेबस की पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ उनमें कला के प्रति रूझान पैदा करना था ताकि वो अपनी रूचि के अनुसार दूसरे अन्य क्रियाकलापों में शामिल हो सकें।

विद्यार्थियों ने अपनी कल्पना और रचनात्मकता दिखाते हुए कई तरह के आर्ट्स और क्राफ्ट्स का प्रदर्शन किया, जैसे कि पेड़ों के पत्तों से बने हुए क्राफ्ट्स, मिट्टी के मटके पर रंगीन चित्रकारी, रंगीन कागज से बने हुए क्राफ्ट्स, पेंटिंग, स्केचिंग, ड्रॉइंग इत्यादि। विद्यार्थियों ने शॉर्ट फिल्म, डॉक्यूमेंटरी, और 3डी वीडियो भी बनाकर उनका प्रदर्शन किया। राजस्थान का मशहूर मंडाला आर्ट इस मेले के प्रमुख आर्कषण का हिस्सा रहा। दूसरे विभागों के शिक्षकों और छात्रों ने भी इस कला-प्रर्दशनी मेले का लुत्फ उठाया और विद्यार्थियों के प्रयासों की सराहना की।

इस प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन स्कूल ऑफ लिबरल एजुकेशन की डीन डॉ. अनुराधा पाराशर की पहल पर किया गया था। उनका मानना है कि विद्यार्थियों को केवल किताबी कीड़ा बनने की बजाय पाठ्यक्रम से इतर दूसरी गतिविधियों में भी भाग लेना चाहिए ताकि उनका सर्वांगीण विकास हो। विश्वविद्यालय के परीक्षा नियंत्रक प्रोफेसर डॉ. अमिताभ भट्टाचार्या ने इस तरह के कला-प्रदर्शनी को मूल्यांकन पद्धति का हिस्सा बनाये जाने पर खुशी व्यक्त की। विश्वविद्यालय के वाइस-चांसलर डॉ. मल्लिकार्जुन बाबू ने छात्रों के आर्ट्स और क्राफ्टस देखने के बाद उनकी हौसलाअफजाई की। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदर्शनी आयोजन को भी पठन-पाठन का हिस्सा बनाया जाना चाहिए ताकि विद्यार्थियों के व्यक्तित्व का विकास हो सके।  विश्वविद्यालय की डायरेक्टर एडवोकेट अराधना गलगोटिया ने कला प्रदर्शनी मेले के आयोजन की सराहना की। विश्वविद्यालय के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी ध्रुव गलगोटिया ने प्रदर्शनी के सफल आयोजन की बधाई दी।
